Welcome to Week 6!
Now you have reached the half way point in our study plan. You deserve a short break to recharge your batteries. This is a good time to spend some time with family and friends. After your short break of half a day or a day, come back and start week 6.
A quick tip before you begin: Try to study at least 3 hours a day, and in the weekends a little more if your schedule permits.
Let’s get started shall we?
Certified Management Accountant Part 1 – Section D: Cost Management
In this week, your focus should be on Measurement Concepts. You are now starting Section D 🙂
1. Measurement concepts
- Cost behavior and cost objects
- Actual and normal costs
- Standard costs
- Absorption (full) costing
- Variable (direct) costing
- Joint and by-product costing
Certified Management Accountant Part 2 – Section B: Corporate Finance (Continued)
In this week, focus on Corporate Restructuring and on International Finance. This is the last week in Section B!
1. Corporate restructuring
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Other forms of restructuring
2. International finance
- Fixed, flexible, and floating exchange rates
- Managing transaction exposure
- Financing international trade
- Tax implications of transfer pricing
Try to focus only on studying these topics. If you finish studying before the end of the week, go over your notes and formulas to harness your knowledge.
If you find the content hard to learn, perhaps having an instructor by your side helping you each step of the way may be better than self-studying. Check out the video below that explains more about this and about my online CMA video prep course:
This weekly study plan is a simplified version of the study plan in my CMA Coach Study Guide.

Until next week,
